Themes & elements
Recurring themes in my work is the exploration of language and its ability to shape perception. By utilizing symbols and metaphors drawn from the collective consciousness, I aim to disrupt established narratives, emphasizing the interplay between linguistic constructs and the reinforcement of oppressive and exploitative systems.

The seemingly grotesque elements in my sculptures are intended to be a form of resistance, refusing to sanitize the dialogue of violence and oppression that marginalized groups, outside of a hetero-colonial normativity, face. Each work is a blatant confrontation, encouraging viewers to realize the harsh realities that persist in our society. This visceral quality of the work aims to be deliberately unsettling, forcing individuals to engage with the discomfort that arises when we acknowledge the cruelty and injustices that underpin our everyday existence; questioning their passive roles within these systems. My interdisciplinary approach allows me to draw connections between the seemingly disparate experiences of women and non-human animals, challenging oppressive systems that have historical ties in perpetuating the suffering of many for the comfort of a few.
